Aims & objectives/Mission statement

Gateshead Refugee Support Network was established in 2005

Our Aims:

The primary aim is to assist refugees, mentoring initiatives which aim to train at 30 refugees to mentor the newly arrived refugees and asylum seekers in Gateshead with ultimate objective of increasing the skills of the mentors and the confidence of the mentees which would enable them to access jobs, training, education, and reduce isolation within the community.

Our mission:

Building positive well informed refugee community that is self reliant, independent, responsible and respectable group of people in the society.

Our Vision:

The aim of the organisation is to support refugees and asylum seekers, empower them to reach their full potential and rebuild their lives within the UK society e.g. skills development , like being able to use computer applications, raising health, education and cultural awareness and inter personal skills development
