The organisation was set up since April 2009

Mission statement:

United Voices aims to bring together asylum seekers and refugees living in Darlington and surrounding areas in order to support each other through information sharing, awarness raising, educational opportunities and social and community activities.

Objectives:

  • To reduce isoaltion and loneliness am ong asylum seekers and refugees living in Darlington and surrounding areas
  • To improve access to education, training and employement for its members
  • To share information among its members
  • To relieve poverty among members
  • To perserve and protect the physical and mental health of its members and their dependents
  • To share cultures among its members and the wider community
